Review of Mamma Amalfi
by Michele Eaton - Tuesday 10th 2003f June 2003
Myself and three friends visited Mama Amalfi in Croydon and we found that the service there was terrible. When we got there thay had lost our booking and there was alot of dithering around to find us a table, even though it was quite empty. Then It took 10-15 minutes for them to ask us if we required a drink. Then a further 20 minutes later they finally came and took our order. The stater we had was Brushetta which was dripping in oil and the bread was burnt. The main course was not much better. My two friends had penne with chicken and mushroom which looked like it had just come out of the microwave. My other friend had rosemary lamb and mash potatoe, this looked very nice but the lamb was very tough. I had pasta with chicken and peppers but this was totally inedible as it was sitting on about 1/2" of oil and was cold. We did not have dessert as I dont think that we could stomach anything else. I would not reccommend this restuarant to anyone as I think everything about it is sub standard and to top it all off my friend was very ill from eating at Mama Amalfi.
