If this is contemporary, I'll go back to traditional, thanks very much

This was my first visit to Cafe Naz, and it will be my only one. The decor was acceptable, although the venue was lacking in atmosphere over more traditional Indian restaurants. My first problem was with the menu - far less extensive than most decent curry houses, too much focus on being clever and different, and not enough attention paid to dishes that people actually want to buy. The second, and more important problem was the quality of the food. My starter, a chicken chat was uninspiring and 'slippery' and my main course, a Jalfrezi, was not even as good as one from Marks and Spencer, let alone something produced by a decent restaurant. The one good thing about this place was the quality of their Lassi's, but then again, at £4 a pint, they ought to be good.
