Quick Link: Loch Fyne Oyster Bar |
The most reliable place to eat in cambridge
by Sheedy - Saturday 17th 2004f January 2004
The Loch Fyne chain prides itself on fresh, quality produce and robust portions and this branch is no different. The menu is regularly updated and has an excellent range of fish and styles of preparation; be warned, there is little for the neutral though and the generous steak is the only acceptable alternative to seafood. Having eaten there almost a dozen times the service is variable but this is understandable given the popularity at peak times (booking is certainly needed to avoid a long wait for a table on saturday evenings). The decor is rustic but the large wooden tables and simple settings complement the home-made feel and the wine list is far from unsophisticated. Expect to pay around 50 pounds for a two course meal for two with wine. Consistently and reassuringly good.
